The Killers: All Done With The 'Christmas Song Game' - Amy Brooks

Easy to see that The Killers have always had a little more going on than just being four pretty faces.  Reality is, aside from being a platinum selling alternative band with many cross over hit songs adored by so many they also have made prolific donations of their time, talent and most importantly money to charity.

More specifically, they have been recording a new Christmas song for charity every year since 2006 in support of Bono's Product Red Campaign.  This comes to mind to me today because December 1st is usually the day their annual  Christmas song would be released coinciding with World Aids Day.  Just not this year and likely (and unfortunately) no other years to come.  As Brandon Flowers told Rolling Stone:

“We are finished with the Christmas song game, but we’re proud of what we did. We did 11 songs.”

Flowers said that while the band won’t be releasing any more Christmas music, they’ve planning on releasing their one (and only) Christmas album Don’t Waste Your Wishes on vinyl at some point and as before - all proceeds from sales of the album will go to the Project Red campaign, to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in eight African countries.

Check out the video from my favorite of all their Xmas songs:
