I must admit, I haven't set foot in a KFC in 30+ years, however, I must say, their Twitter scheme here is absolute gold! KFC's genius marketing stunt has garnered quite a bit of attention, and as a company isn't THAT what it's all about? Yes, yes it is.
As you can see here (left) KFC follows just 11 people on their Twitter account: six men named Herb and five Spice Girls. Get it? 11 Herbs and Spices?? It's definitley a clever knee slapper to say the least.
Well, apparently, one fan spotted it before anyone else, and when he tweeted at @KFC (below) he was rewarded for his findings! The reward was a gold-framed portrait of Edge (@edgette22) being carried by the late Colonel Sanders.
@KFC follows 11 people. Those 11 people? 5 Spice Girls and 6 guys named Herb. 11 Herbs & Spices. I need time to process this.
Dreams DO come true. #GiddyUpColonel Thanks @kfc
Check out the re-tweets and likes this kid got! Pretty epic and funny and ridiculous, especially when you read through some of @edgette22's twitter feed, he's a fast food junkie! haha. So party on Edge, this must really feel like a holiday for you today...National Fast Food Day.
Oh and give that KFC marketing rep a damn raise.
