Family Ties Lead The Charge For 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' - ALMOST NO SPOILERS!

I'm going to try and do this review of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 with as little spoilers as possible.

But I'm going to give you just one spoiler. That's why I said almost.

If you're going to this movie to see the bridge between the Guardians and Thanos, this is not your movie.

Thanos' name is only uttered 3 times (that I counted) in the entire movie. This has nothing to do with Avengers: Infinity War. For you comic book nerds, this story revolves around Ego. For non-comic book nerds, this story will teach you Peter's lineage.

There's a lot less Baby Groot than I expected.

To be fair, my boyfriend made an excellent point that "If there was TOO MUCH Baby Groot, it would have gotten annoying." This is coming from a man who finds Groot positively adorable, so don't think he's biased.

You get to see the emotional sides of Rocket and Yondu.

Let's just say that these two come to a mutual understanding of each other.

The soundtrack is on point.

Not that you should be surprised after Guardians Vol. 1, but the songs come in at the right time.

You can tell that Drax has grown.

He still is socially awkward, but it's a little better now. Talking with a new character, Mantis, he tries to lie to her to spare her feelings, and other notations, showing that he isn't as literal as he was in the first film.

In my personal opinion, you should still see this movie, but in my heart, it does not top Vol. 1.

The movie is a good continuation of the story, and helps build the characters deeply as they "learn to live with each other," but nothing will top the hilarity of misfits banding together for the first time like Volume 1.

There is far too much reference of David Hasselhoff.

Even once is too many times. And he's referenced more than once.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. is in theaters today!
