WATCH: 16 Years Ago The Simpsons Predicted A Trump Presidency

If a year ago (let alone 16 years ago) you had asked any politician or any American citizen for that matter,  if Donald Trump had a good chance of becoming president, most of them might've laughed at you.  Even when rumors first sprung up of this historic 2016 run, it seemed absurd.

Well, back in 2000, The Simpsons did just that!  In this episode, almost 16 years ago to the day, called "Bart to the Future," Bart gets a look into the future at himself as an adult, and it ain't pretty. He's in a band (not that there's anything wrong with that) and needs money from homer etc., but Lisa has grown up and become "America's first straight female president."

Watch the video clip from that episode to see the rest, it's crazy! If that's even the right word.

Here's the kicker...Simpsons writer Dan Greaney recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the line was meant as "a warning to America."

Greanery says:

"What we needed was for Lisa to have problems that were beyond her fixing, that everything went as bad as it possibly could, and that's why we had Trump be president before her," he said.

This is why The Simpson's is the greatest show on television.
