Metallica News Round-Up: Dodge Partnership, Reissue Previews

For a band that hasn't had a new album out in eight years, Metallica has done a fine job of being visible -- and audible.

The group has re-upped with car maker Dodge, which is using "Fuel," the opening track from 1998's ReLoad album, in a new "Predators" commercial advertising its muscle car lineup of the Challenger SRT Hellcat, the Charger SRT Hellcat and the Viper GTS. Dodge previously used "Fuel" in a winter ad for the vehicles.

The ad comes out as Metallica is prepping for its role as Record Store Day 2016 ambassadors on April 16, which includes the release of Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite, Metallica! -- Live at Le Bataclan from a June 11, 2013 show in Paris, as well as April 15 release of deluxe box set editions of the group's first two album, Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning. (Previews of remastered/demo clips can be heard below.)

Many expect Metallica to show up somewhere on Record Store Day for a performance, but the group's only announced show of the year so far is August 20 in Minneapolis, which sold out in 10 minutes.
