The Red Hot Chili Peppers next album has entered the mixing stage.
Drummer Chad Smith posted a photo on the band's official Facebook page this week, showing him at a control board with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and the message "Started Mixing the new record today! Nigel Godrich at the helm."
The Chili Peppers worked with a new producer, Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton, on the project, which is the follow-up to 2011's I'm With You. There's no word on a release date yet, but the Chili Peppers return to the road on April 24 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and have festival shows booked into the summer -- including a just-announced headlining slot on July 30 at Lollapalooza in Chicago.
