Pearl Jam Offering Special Earplugs At Upcoming Tour

Pearl Jam wants to pump DOWN the volume at shows on its upcoming U.S. tour.

The group is partnering with MusicCares to hand out limited edition PJ x MusiCares earplugs in exchange for a donation to the charity. Bassist Jeff Ament said in a statement, "Don't be careless and lazy at loud rock shows or cranking tunes through an old Walkman like I was 30 years ago (but boy did it all sound good). Wear hearing protection or you'll end up with a 1.5k ring in both ears every night when you go to bed or worse when you are trying to enjoy the serene quiet of an empty desert or forest, again like me."

Fans will be encouraged to take photos of themselves wearing the plugs and post them on social media. Pearl Jam`s tour being April 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
