They may not be playing the Halftime Show, but Metallica will be rocking out the night before the big game.
Just announced, Metallica will take the stage on Saturday, February 6 at San Francisco’s AT&T Park, the site of Super Bowl 50. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, November 6 at 10 AM PST, with a Metallica fan club pre-sale taking place Wednesday, November 4 at 10 AM PST through Thursday, November 5 at 10 PM PST.
Since Super Bowl 50 is taking place in Metallica’s home town, many hoped the band would perform at the Halftime Show, but apparently, Bruno Mars, who’s been rumored to be performing between halves, appeals to a broader demographic. Yeah…we don’t get how one of the biggest rock bands in history doesn’t appeal to a broad demographic, but whatever. What do we know?!
…In other Metallica news: If you’ve been hanging around the band’s newly redesigned website (and registered to become a member), you’ll have come across a video from Lars Ulrich showing that the band are actually in the studio working on new music…FINALLY!
Due to privacy settings, the video cannot be embedded, but if you go to Metallica.com, you can check out the 4-minute clip.
