A helicopter pilot in the French Alps pulled off an incredible landing and rescue of a skier who injured his leg.
Someone in the ski party shot video of the chopper, which has a long spike at the tip of its nose that it drives INTO the snow to act as an anchor.
The helicopter is kind of tethered to the snow but still in the air . . . with the blades still spinning . . . as the crew jumps off to tend to the injured skier. It takes a couple of landings before everyone has boarded and it can fly away.
