Bastille scored an unexpected smash with "Happier". Now, their mixtape series returns and we can hear the Seeb collab "Grip".
Bastille never released "Grip". They played it live once, and fans wondered if it would ever surface. Well much like how they wrote "Happier" and sent it off to Marshmello, they asked Norwegian production duo Seeb to turn "Grip" on its head.

You probably know Seeb best from scoring massive global hits by remixing Mike Posner's "I Took A Pill in Ibiza" and Coldplay's "Hymn For The Weekend".
Bastille mainman Dan Smith told NME about working with Seeb:
Seeb are making an album and asked us if we wanted to work together. It was an interesting opportunity to work with an artist that we probably wouldn’t and that’s what makes the mixtapes what they are. My vocal, as it’s completely fucked with, flies astronomically up into the air and I think I initially laughed [when I first heard it]. This is way outside of my comfort zone and that’s definitely a good thing. It’s something we’d never have done but a good collaboration can stretch you, make you try something new and go to a different space, and be fun. Maybe it’s part of me mellowing out.
Bastille relies on their Other People's Heartache mixtape series to get out of their comfort zone. Today Bastille surprise-announced Other People's Heartache Pt. 4 for release tomorrow. According to wikipedia it will feature "Grip", "Happier", and the cover of Green Day's "Basket Case" they recorded for Amazon Prime Video's The Tick. We can expect more cool covers and reinventions of Bastille deep cuts to flesh out the tracklist.
Here's what "Grip" used to sound like before Seeb got their hands on it.
