Not Sure About Kevin Hart Hosting 91st Annual Oscars - Amy Brooks

I like Kevin Hart, I do, but I'm on the fence about him as host of the 91st annual Academy Awards.  Maybe I am the problem with the Oscars in the first place?  I want old school actors with a sense of grace and humor and someone who can bring to light how friggin' cool it is to be hosting such a prestigious art/theater based renowned ceremony. But mellenials probably don't, it's gotta be quick and modern and meme like humor wins.  Does that make me old an stodgy?  Meh. Maybe, but i won't apologize for loving the old school Hollywood stuff, glamour, elegance, speeches about the inspiring theater and drama teachers.

Kevin Hart is funny and caustic, so it seems like a mismatch (although he sure seems grateful and himble, check out his Instagram post below)  but I'm of course going to give it a try.  All I know is we don't want a repeat of David Letterman's 1995 odd and awkward Uma and Oprah joke/roast.  So note to self Kevin. Don't do that.  (video clip below!)  What do you think?

For years I have been asked if I would ever Host the Oscars and my answer was always the same...I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it's suppose to. I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars. I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time....To be able to join the legendary list of host that have graced that stage is unbelievable. I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now. I want to thank my family/friends/fans for supporting me & riding with me all this time....I will be sure to make this years Oscars a special one. I appreciate the @TheAcademy for the opportunity it's time to rise to the occasion #Oscars
