What do 300 skiing (and riding) Santas look like shredding up the slopes of Sunday River? See for yourself in the video below! But warning, if you weren't in the Xmas spirit yet, you will be after seeing all of these St. Nick impersonators making their turns and belly laughing 'Ho, Ho Ho!' down the mountain.
Yesterday was the 19th annual Santa Sunday in the little town of Newry, Maine (with the big ski area Sunday River), about 80 miles from Portland. This year they say had the most Santas yet, even with rain in the morning which is amazing because each skiing Santa must donate a minimum of $20, to help support local education and recreation programs.
"There's something about seeing 300 Santas ski down the mountain to support a great cause that puts people in the holiday spirit," said Caroline Ochtera, Director of Events for Sunday River.
The 19th Santa Sunday raised $4,000 Ho Ho Ho indeed! As their slogan says..."Happy Place Found" 🙂
Skiers dressed as Santa enjoyed the snow at Sunday River for a good cause this weekend.
