I don't know what it is about the Brits. I am always fascinated by how small the country is but how MUCH notable music they churn out and the number of fun-to-watch egos that emerge.
A little over a month ago Arctic Monkeys, the 4 piece from Sheffield, England, released their 6th studio album "Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino" to a very appreciative response in their native land. However there is one fellow Brit who may not quite agree, and no guess work is needed to figure who.
Shortly after Arctic Monkeys released their new album, Radio X - London and Manchester - interviewed Noel Gallagher of Oasis. A great question to ask an artist is always something about a fellow band and countryman. And here's why...if the artist is honest you get a great answer that goes viral. Case and point: when Radio X asked Noel Gallagher his thoughts on the new Arctic Monkeys album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, he said:
“Do you know what? I’ve just been listening to it in the car today on the way here… And I don’t know what to make of it,” Host Gordon Smart then chatted about Gallagher’s “experimental” last album but said experimental is “not really what you expect from the Arctic Monkeys...You’d expect a few choruses. It hasn’t got any of them,”
Gotta love his honesty but, tough crowd!
