Brandon Flowers celebrates his birthday today (June 21.) Since arriving with their 2004 debut Hot Fuss, The Killers have become one of the best live acts in music, so what better way to celebrate Mr. Flowers than by looking back at one of the band’s best performances.
In July 2009, The Killers performed a two-night stand at London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall that yielded the stellar album/DVD Live from the Royal Albert Hall released in November 2009. The setlist spanned the band’s first three albums, but as for closing out the show, they went with the juggernaut “When You Were Young,” the lead single from their 2006 album Sam’s Town.
The band and crowd are simply electric, and the performance is so frenetic just in video form that we can’t even imagine what it must have been like to be at Royal Albert Hall during these shows.
