Amy's Pick Of the Week: The 1975 "Give Yourself A Try"

There has never been a time where I have ever said "what's the big thing with The 1975"?  I get it, I do.  There's a lot of appeal to this 4 piece from the universe's rock music mecca, Manchester, England.  Not least of which begs the question: "What IS Matty Healy up to now"?

After originally stating that The 1975 would be all done after their 3rd album, Matty has recanted in an interview with Beats 1 saying simply that he "changed his mind."  (see the Twitter video/post below).  And has now revealed that we can look forward to quite a bit of new material from the band.

Enter this brand new surprise single, “Give Yourself a Try”'s quintessential The 1975 and doesn't disappoint.  One of the many nondescript reasons it's my pick of the week.  "Give Yourself a Try" is the first single from their upcoming album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. The track premiered on BBC Radio 1 show earlier today (June 1).

Matty Healy also revealed that the new album is due this October, and there are already plans (and a title) for a follow-up to THAT album which will be called Notes on a Conditional Form, planned for release May 2019.

All that is the plan, at least until he changes his mind 😉
