Billie Joe Armstrong's The Longshot Tour Canceled Because Of Illness - Amy Brooks

I saw this post about an illness in Billie Joe Armstrong's new Green Day side project The Longshot tour on Instagram and I was worried.  Over the years, following Green Day and Billie Joe's successful and often difficult career, we all stood by and watched him nearly and almost completely implode. And although he kept bouncing back (with so much love and support from his bff and band-mate Mike Dirnt), that doesn't stop me, as a fan, from worrying about the stability and health of Billie Joe. So when I saw this I thought not only was it post worthy it was important that we give them some virtual support.

The Longshot is a new side project and off shoot of Green Day, fronted and created by Billie Joe.  They put out an EP then a full LP and so they decided to tour. But now it looks like their run will be shorter than expected. The band has announced that they are postponing all of their remaining scheduled dates immediately, citing a family emergency.

Here's the Instagram post

PLEASE READ: To everyone. One of our band members @longshot is dealing with a very serious family emergency. It's with heavy hearts we need to announce tonight's show in Santa Ana and the rest of the west coast shows will be postponed. We love you all and we will be back. Please send good vibes to each other. All my love, Billie Joe phone by @stove__rowe

Whatever it is, happening to whomever, we wish the affected person and family plenty of love, positive thoughts and like BJ says "good vibes."
