First of all, Muse has new music! That's the ultimate take away here. To the delight of Muse fans Muse played a special one-off show at La Cigale in France...which was reportedly an out of their mind show packed with rarities that were voted on by Muse fans.
Here's the setlist:
Thought Contagion (live debut)
Eternally Missed (First time since 2002)
Space Dementia (First time since 2011)
Helsinki Jam (First time since 2011)
Supermassive Black Hole
Plug In Baby
Yes Please (First time as closing song since 2000)
As you can see they opened with their new single ‘Thought Contagion’ which was the live debut of the song and although there is no news about a new full length album, lead singer and Muse brain trust Matt Bellamy told NME:
We’re going to do the biggest tour and just blow people’s minds with stuff they’ve never seen before. We’re going to come up with something that no one’s ever seen before.
We’re always interested in the latest technology and what’s cutting edge, so we’re always thinking of the new thing that nobody’s ever used before in a concert. And we found something and we’re going to use that.
We’ve been working on a lot of new music,” Bellamy added, “we’re going to release more new songs this year, working towards an album which will come out some time soon.”
After seeing the live reaction to "Thought Contagion" it's no surprise that it has climbed inside the Top-10 at Alternative Rock.
