Maybe That Instagram Picture Could Make You A Model Afterall - Amy Brooks

Wow! Imagine just walking around in a crowded place and some guy snaps your picture, posts it, it goes viral, an agency sees it and then signs you to a modeling deal? Well, that's what happened to this sophomore at Plymouth State Universuty in NH.

Anok Yai grew up in Manchester but is of Sudanese decent.

A photographer took photos of her for his Instagram account about a week ago while she was at a homecoming event at Howard University in Washington. He said he was photographing people with nice outfits.

The photos had been liked more than 11,000 times by Sunday, and Yai said last week she's heard from three modeling agencies.

Anok is a biochemistry student who moved to the U.S with her family from Egypt in 2000 and says she's  always been interested in fashion and art, but modeling was the dream she just never saw what others see.

At first, I questioned what everyone was seeing because I didn’t really see it,” she said.

'Honestly, I think that people get so used to seeing themselves that people don’t see their own beauty because they see it everyday.”

Pretty cool. But as a biochem major, her obvious intelligence, inner beauty and humble nature should truly take her beyond what her pretty face can.

Good luck Anok!
