ICYMI: Pennywise Gets What "It" Deserves: A Remake - Amy Brooks

Many years ago I started a particular Stephen King novel, upon a recommendation from my beloved, albeit twisted sister. Well, just 3 chapters into the well over 1,000 page saga, I put it down never to be picked up again.

Shortly thereafter, she was the same person to tell me that "It" was to become a TV mini series, and she implored me to watch it. How bad could it be, it's gonna be on TV, I thought.  I did, and couldn't get through the first night.

And the only thing as frightening as that book was that 1990 damn film (TV-mini series) adaptation.  Well, friends who love to be scared silly for entertainment, this is for you.  The latest adaption of Stephen King's "It," will be here at the end of the summer and adorable Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård will star as Pennywise in a full length feature film, on the ol' big screen, which alone will surely screw me up royally.

Here he is, shown emerging from the depths of the sewer to terrify a whole new generation of Pennywise lovers in a new photo released last winter.  Ugh. Please, I can't even look!

The forthcoming film's director Andrés Muschietti says that Pennywise is different and far scarier this time around, because he's "front and center" in this remake of the 1990 made-for-TV miniseries.

"Pennywise shows up, he’s front and center, and he does his show. He has an act. So it’s weird all the time, and every little thing implies a further threat."

"It" hits theaters Sep. 8, 2017.

"Hiya Georgie, aren't you gonna say hello?"

Let's see if my sister can sit through the 2017 version, challenge is on, Lee!

Here's a little glimpse of what to expect and a sort of then and now promotional trailer.
