Prophets Of Rage has released a live performance video for the Public Enemy song from which the group took its name.
The clip shows the band -- a combination of members of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill -- performing the song at concerts for prison inmates in California and political protesters in Cleveland. The group recorded a studio version of the track for its new EP, The Party's Over, and guitarist Tom Morello tells us that the group found arranging Public Enemy songs for its format to be particularly challenging:
"That took awhile to figure out...how are we gonna approach the Public Enemy songs, where, like, Cypress Hill songs may lend themselves mare straightforwardly to a rock 'n' roll band, but the Bomb Squad stuff is very collagey, like, how to do, and it took awhile. Really it took, I would say that it came together, really came together a couple days before the Whiskey show (May 31) where it was like, 'Oh shit, that's what Prophets Of Rage is going to sound like.'"
The band's Make America Rage Again Tour goes through October 15.
