Metallica ‘Master Of Puppets’ Book Gets Release Date

Metallica has set a September 13 publication date for Metallica: Back To Front, the highly anticipated, officially authorized book about the making of its 1986 Master Of Puppets album.

The 276-page book was written by Matt Taylor and includes new interviews with the members of Metallica and its road crew at the time, producer Flemming Rasmussen, mixer Michael Wagnener, manager’s promoters, booking agents, members of Faith No More, Anthrax and Armored Saint (who toured with Metallica during 1986) and the late founding bassist Cliff Burton’s father, Ray.

In a statement Metallica says, "Two years in the making, we're beyond excited to finally share it with you...We hit the storage lockers, attics and basements to fill the book with hundreds of never-before-seen images pulled from our personal archives and have been involved every step of the way to bring you the complete story."

A special Collector's Edition of the book will publish on August 3-0 and be available through Metallica.com and MoonriseMedia.net. Metallica has reportedly finished work on its first album since 2008, which is expected to be released this fall.
