Things are about to get really messy in the divorce of Frances Bean Cobain and her husband of nearly two years Isaiah Silva.
TMZ reports that the 1959 Martin D-18E guitar the late Kurt Cobain famously played during Nirvana’s performance on MTV Unplugged is currently been fought over, with Silva claiming Frances Bean gave him the guitar as a wedding present. This claim is being denied by both Frances Bean and mother Courtney Love, who says in the video below that the guitar is a “treasured heirloom” and “It’s not his to take.”
Frances Bean Cobain -- It's War ... Ex Wants Kurt's 'Unplugged' Guitar
We got Courtney Love at LAX Tuesday, who squarely sided with her daughter, essentially saying Isaiah's a scammer.
It’s not known whether a prenup was signed before vows were exchanged, but we’d like to think that any mediator/clerk/judge or anyone else in charge of settling this issue would have enough sense to not award Silva anything Cobain-related that wasn’t accrued during their marriage.
Now…any money Frances Bean made during their marriage could be up for grabs, that is if there wasn’t a prenup.
One thing’s for certain: We haven’t heard the last of this split.
