Michael Stipe Performs Bowie Cover

Those who tuned into NBC’s The Tonight Show last night (March 29th) were treated to a very rare appearance by Michael Stipe who performed the David Bowie classic “The Man Who Sold The World.”

Stipe will be taking part in the upcoming in the March 31st and April 1st Bowie tribute shows taking place at New York City’s Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall, respectively, along with The Roots, Cyndi Lauper, Ann Wilson, Perry Farrell, Jakob Dylan, Pixies, Mumford & Sons, the Flaming Lips and Blondie.

Both tribute shows will be available for streaming at MusicOfDavidBowie.com per a donation benefiting a number of NYC music charities.
