Recap From Ramones SXSW Panel

The Ramones got their due on Thursday (March 18) at South By Southwest, celebrating the legendary punk band’s 40th anniversary.

The group was the subject of a panel discussion that included Seymour Stein, the Sire Records chief who signed the band, during the afternoon, while at night the Grammy Museum host a 40 Years of Ramones tribute with 18 acts playing their versions of Ramones songs, including a guest appearance by Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirnter with the band Lost In Society.

A new Ramones 40th anniversary exhibit opens April 10 at the Queens Museum in New York and Sept. 16 at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
