E! reports that Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford will both be on board for the newest installment.
Disney acquired the Indiana Jones franchise in 2012 (probably the same time Star Wars was also bought), and Alan Horn, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, told E! "Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can't wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019."
No word as to the plot line, if Shia LaBeouf will return.
Prior to the agreement of the casting, it had been widely discussed that Chris Pratt could take over the Indy series, and he was concerned that it was a scary move for him. Entertainment Weekly quotes him saying “You have to look at it and be like, ‘Is this right for me?’... Is it right for me to do this? And is it perfect? You don’t want to be the guy who ***** that up.”
Though it does make us a little bummed we won't see Chris Pratt don the Indy hat and jacket anytime soon, we are so terribly thrilled to see that Harrison Ford will reprise another one of his iconic roles.
