Royal Blood’s Mike Kerr Talks Making New Music

After spending the better part of two years supporting their debut album, the two members of Royal Blood are chomping at the bit to make some new music.

Singer-bassist Mike Kerr tells us there are ideas around, but the group's heavy touring schedule has kept he and drummer Ben Thatcher from being able to develop them as much as they'd like:

"It's very difficult to say because we've been on-stop playing live shows and filling our days up with press. And then if we're not doing that we're either on a bus going to the next town to do the same thing. We don't have time to write. Having said that, we've always been collecting our ideas over the past couple of years. Until we get in a room together and figure out exactly what it is we want to do on our next record then, yeah, it's still to be done, you know?"

"Definitely, yeah. But I'm not gonna tell you. I'm sorry, but no, unfortunately not...Jazz. Jazz is my hint."

Believe that if you want. Meanwhile, Royal Blood has a few more dates with Foo Fighters in North America before playing the Reading and Leeds festivals in the U.K. on August 29-30. The duo will also perform at Rock In Rio on September 19 in Brazil and October 2 and 9 at the Austin City Limits Festival in Texas.
