The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach is stepping out with his new project "The Arcs". Dan's new band is made up of Leon Michels, Richard Swift, Homer Steinweiss, Nick Movshon and Kenny Vaughan.
Dan says that naming the group, which has played together for years, and releasing an album made perfect sense and allows him to experiment with different sounds. He does make sure that there is no question about the future of the Black Keys though, saying, "It's a completely different thing than the Black Keys, where I write the lyrics, the chords and most of the melodies. Every song on this record is co-written with the whole band. That's why I didn't call it my name. I love being able to sit back and let songs evolve without me. It's been a new experience."
The Arcs debut album "Yours, Dreamily" drops on September 4th. The first track from the new album, "Stay In My Corner" was released yesterday.
