Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell will return to the solo ranks on September 18, with the release of his fourth album "Higher Truth."
The set was produced by Brendan O`Brien and, according to the announcement, "expresses Cornell's continuing evolution as a master songwriter, lyricist and musical craftsman, telling human stories which resonate across genre barriers."
It's Cornell's first solo effort since 2011's "Songbook" he's been focused on Soundgarden activities since then and the group is also working on a new material to follow its 2012 reunion "King Animal."
Cornell will begin a solo acoustic tour to support the album on September 20 in Los Angeles; starting today (June 2), fans on his mailing list will receive a link and code word to purchase tickets before the general public, and American Experss Cardholders will also get a head start starting Wednesday (June 3).
General public sales will begin Friday and Saturday (June 5-6), and $1 from every ticket will go to the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, which channels money to help children facing homelessness, poverty, abuse and neglect.
