Flea Breaks Arm, New RHCP Album On Hold

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has revealed that he broke his arm in a mid-February snowboarding accident, which has likely delayed recording of the group's next album.

Flea actually posted an Instagram photo of himself with his left arm in a cast and sling with the caption "Oops," but it went unnoticed at the time. In a recent Twitter exchange with fans, however, Flea acknowledged that he "Can't play for a couple of months which is a serious change in my life."

The group has announced it will be working on the follow-up to 2011's "I'm With You" with Danger Mouse producing after six previous albums with Rick Rubin. There's no word yet on when sessions will begin, but the group has been working on new material since last summer.
