While Scott Weiland and Dean DeLeo are no longer bandmates, we can all agree that they’ll be forever linked, but this week these two shared common and very sacred ground: They both appeared in viral videos…
…but who’s video was the best? Let’s go to the tape!
First up, we have this ungodly performance of Weiland on tour with his band The Wildabouts in Corpus Christi, Texas. The video opens with Weiland saying, “This is a new song. We just worked it out today,” and then he launched into the absolute worst rendition of “Vasoline” we’ve ever heard. A rep from Weiland’s camp told TMZ that the singer had a couple of drinks before the show and his earpiece wasn’t working, and that’s why he sounded so terrible. Just listen and judge for yourself.
DeLeo’s viral video, on the other hand, is a bit different but just as entertaining.
The video below is of a Stone Temple Pilots tour stop in New York City during their performance of “Big Empty.” DeLeo stops the show mid-song and then proceeds to get a fan thrown out, who was allegedly heckling the band, and he REALLY lays it into him. (WARNING: The clip contains a bunch of NSFW language.)
But which video was the best viral clip? It really depends how you look at it. If you prefer your videos to be of the trainwreck variety, Weiland is the clear winner. If you love yourself some concert justice, DeLeo will take the title. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
