Green beer or Guinness?  Corned beef and cabbage or shepherd’s pie?  Jameson or Bushmills?  There are many great debates that are a part of St. Patrick’s Day, but one of the biggest involves pitting two of the biggest Celtic punk bands against each other.

March 9, 1987: U2 Release ‘The Joshua Tree’

Once the embers of 1984’s The Unforgettable Fire subsided, U2 decided to go on a different kind of tour. (No, not that Amnesty International tour in 1986 with Sting.) This tour delved into the band’s wonder with America, and it gave birth to one of music’s biggest albums ever.
