"Music is everything.” Amy Brooks has been with 92.9 since 1996. She says she can trace her obsession with radio back to the early days of listening to Boston's heritage rock station WBCN on her "crappy little boom box."
"No one has ever been more grateful for getting an F in Macro Economics at the University of New Hampshire than I was. Because that F changed my path from a life of business administration to what I've always wanted to do...play music on the radio".
Born and raised in Needham, MA, Amy is now a Boston radio veteran and voice talent. Her 27 year radio career has taken her all over the country playing music, seeing and hosting shows and interviewing music greats like Sting, Mumford and Sons, John Mayer, Dave Matthews even Willie Nelson who left her with a memorable gift (an open mouthed kiss good bye. Our guess is that he liked the interview). "This is ‘work’” she says, “and I couldn’t imagine doing any other job”.
In addition to her on-air show weekdays from 3-7p, Amy, is also a local and national commercial voice talent. Her clients include; the world champion New England Patriots, Bose, Wells Fargo, 99 Restaurant, Foxwoods, Marshalls and is the image voice for stations in New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Philadelphia, and more.
Amy is the mother of 2 elementary school aged girls, Cami and Fiona, who both prefer listening to the Chili Peppers over Justin Bieber. Safe to say, Amy would rather mow the lawn, roof houses or get a root canal than do the dishes or fold laundry. Amy loves animals, the outdoors, skiing, golf, soccer, ALL Boston sports teams and did we mention music? Yes, yes we did.
