Leave it to an actor to say all the things we want to say with poise and genuine empathy. Well, let me re-phrase that...leave it to Jared Leto. At the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards Jared paid tribute to the late Chester Bennington, and it seems as if there wasn't a dry eye in the place. He even mentions his own band mate Tomo and their band Thirty Seconds To Mars and how Linkin Park were also like a group of "brothers".
I had forgotten Thirty Seconds To Mars toured with Linkin Park in 2014...Jared mentioned it and described Chester as a close friend. He praised Chester's “kind and caring” nature and his inspiring work ethic. Then when Jared mentioned Chester's six "incredible children" well...pass the Kleenex.
He wrapped it up with a plea to anyone suffering from depression to reach out. Saying:
If there is anyone out there who is watching this tonight who feels like there is no hope, hear me now: You are not alone. There is always a way forward.
And might I add, something that Gavin Rossdale said at a Bush show the day after Chester's suicide,
"Look after each other"
Which really is a good practice everyday.
