Shame on me. This week (August 8th to be exact) we lost legendary country musician Glen Campbell, no thanks to his long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 81. The shame on me part is that after hearing this news I thought, hmm did he die twice? I honestly thought he had already passed. Like I said shame on me.
Campbell, is one of country music's true legends and like any good politician, he crossed the aisle - blurring the lines between rock and country with much respect for some of rock's most influential artists. And that was evident by the noteworthy covers he did over the years of artists like Green Day, Lou Reed, U2 and Foo Fighters. (videos below)
He himself was known for such songs as "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Wichita Lineman," and "Galveston."
Thank you for your artistry, your music and your innovative cover songs.
