Brendon Urie Looking Damn Good In Red "Kinky Boots"

Last year at this time, Brendon Urie and Panic! At The Disco were heading out on a summer tour with Weezer.  By the time they made it around to the Boston area, their show at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield was one of only 4 shows that sold out the venue all summer.  Now, one year later, Brendan is gearing up (literally) for a different sort of performance this summer. His Broadway debut as the lead in "Kinky Boots!"

Brendon plays straight laced English shoe factory owner Charlie Price, who befriends a drag queen named Lola who helps him save the family business.

“I used to dream about this day. Just being a part of musical theater — so this literally is a dream come true.   I was invited to see the show about two and a half years ago — I’d only seen two other musicals before that: “The Book of Mormon” and “Wicked.” At the finale, the acceptance, the understanding, the compassion that you feel is overwhelming. There was a fire in my chest, I wanted to stand up screaming. Afterward, I met with [the producer] Hal Luftig, and he asked me if I was interested. I said: “In any capacity you want to use me on Broadway, I’m ready to jump in. I will help build sets, I will usher at the door — whatever I can do to be part of this family.”

The score was written by Cyndi Lauper and it just so happens that Brendon is a big fan of hers.  Sounds like a match made in heaven.  Oh and those boots!  Wow!  Seeing him in those red leather stillettos alone is definitely worth the price of admission.
