If you use Facebook, you need to be aware of the latest scam circulating around the social media network.
The scam, aimed at cloning people's accounts, could try to get money from your friends and family -- all while the person on the other end pretends to be you.
According to The Daily Star, several Facebook users have had their accounts copied to look identical to their current profile.
What's more, the scammer even copies and pastes your status updates into the new account, in an attempt to fool your friends and family into believing the deceptive account belongs to you.
Since the scam was first reported, several people who use the platform have received requests for money from the duplicated friend's fake account.
The new scam comes at a time where another Facebook scam is losing ground. Last month, another scam claimed Facebook would start charging users to use the platform.
