In conjunction with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on April 5 (Blu-Ray April 5), behind the scenes footage is beginning to show online!
Any Star Wars nerd would love to see some of this!
Not only did we get some footage shared by Maz herself (Lupita Nyong'o), but even Harrison Ford's work with JJ Abrams of Han Solo coming onto the Millennium Falcon has been shared by Jimmy Kimmel.
As far as special effects go, the work presented below is how CG can transport a person acting the actual character out to make it a living, breathing thing. The same technology was used with Lord of the Rings and The Avengers: Age of Ultron, as we can draw from the clip by Andy Serkis's participation.
Fun fact, Andy Serkis is one of the lead digital workers when it comes to these type of characters, he wasn't JUST playing Gollum in LOTR and The Hobbit trilogy.
If anything, this is more of an excuse to get the behind the scenes versions of Star Wars!
Amy Cooper is a writer and pop culture fact nerd, and on multiple occasions has been referred to as a “Walking iPod.”
