The soundtrack companion for Montage of Heck, the acclaimed Kurt Cobain documentary, will be released on November 6, the same day as the film's release on DVD.
The album which hasn't been formally titled yet, is being billed as a Cobain "solo album" and will feature a wealth of unreleased music by Cobain that was unearthed by director Brett Morgen -- including a previously unheard demo that may be added to the film for the home video release.
Morgen told Bedford + Bowery that "it's not a Nirvana album, it's just Kurt and you're going to hear him do things you never expected to come out of him...from thrash to ragtime to everything in between." It will also include what Morgen calls "a sketch comedy routine."
Montage of Heck, which had the endorsement of Cobain's widow Courtney Love and Nirvana co-founder Krist Novoselic, was shown on HBO earlier this year and had a limited theatrical run.
