Metallica sure are racking up the headlining festival gigs this summer!
Just added to their performance itinerary is a set on the “Super Stage” at the X Games in Austin, Texas taking place June 4-7. The band’s performance is scheduled for June 6th, and so far the only other headlining set that’s been announced for the big sporting weekend is Nicki Minaj.
If you just felt a chill in the air, don’t be alarmed; that was just hell freezing over.
Metallica even sat down with skateboarding legend Tony Hawk to announce their X Games show, and while viewers should’ve been in awe of two giants in their respective fields sharing the screen together, we couldn’t help but be distracted by the appearance of Kirk Hammett’s seemingly baby-smooth legs. (No, really…check that out! You can tell that dude moisturizes.)
Next up on Metallica’s tour itinerary are gigs in Rock im Revier (May 29th) in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and Rockavaria (May 31st) in Munich, Germany. For a full list of upcoming show dates, go to Metallica.com.
